First Projects and Commissions (2015–2019)

This marked the start of my creative journey—an exciting time of experimentation, learning, and the joy of sharing my first artworks. Each project, personal or custom, built the foundation I stand on today.

Here, you’ll see photos from my earliest projects and commissions for friends, family, and acquaintances—a glimpse into the meaningful steps that started it all.

How My Curiosity for the Stippling Technique Was Awakened

A journey into the magic of dots

It feels like it was just yesterday. I sat completely captivated in front of the TV, watching a documentary about the Maya civilization on the Discovery Channel. Suddenly, something appeared that caught my attention—a drawing technique I had never seen before: stippling. Thousands of tiny dots, arranged with precision, created depth and life in the images. It was both fascinating and accessible, and I knew instantly that I had to try it.

Without any proper tools at hand, I grabbed a yellow Post-it note and carefully began dotting a few small points, just to get a feel for the technique. As I experimented with the tiny dots, an idea struck me: what if I created an image of Fangstmannen, the iconic statue that stands in the square in Tromsø? It felt like the perfect subject to explore with this new technique.

With great enthusiasm, I threw myself into the project—even though I had never tried stippling before. To my own surprise—and immense joy—I managed to complete a detailed and flawless A3 drawing of the statue. But I didn’t stop there. I decided to create another piece featuring a well-known statue in Tromsø: Mother with Child in the Cathedral Park. After finishing both works, I had them printed as small A5 cards and brought them with me to the Christmas market, ready to share my new passion with others.

Light and Dark Art – A Journey in Contrast

Welcome to my artistic universe, where I explore the tension between light and darkness. I’m often drawn to the deeper, more introspective realms, where my images may carry an undertone of melancholy and touch on themes related to mental health and life’s challenges. In these works, I seek to create a visual resonance that invites reflection—and perhaps even recognition—in the viewer. I play with dark palettes, subtle nuances, and symbolism to convey a sense of depth and complexity.

But my creative journey is not one-sided. At times, I’m inspired by a completely different energy, and then a world of sweetness and color blossoms. From nostalgic Care Bears to soft teddy bears, majestic horses, and magical unicorns—during these moments, the canvas bursts to life with playful shapes, sparkling stars, and an explosion of color. These pieces are a tribute to joy, imagination, and the childlike spirit within us.

My art is therefore a reflection of life’s many facets and the different moods that shape us. I hope you’ll find something that resonates with you in this collection of contrasts—whether it’s the quiet intensity of darkness or the effervescent joy of light.

Would you like me to help shape this into a gallery intro or an artist statement for your website or social media? It’s a beautiful foundation.

Star wars

It all began with a commission from a Star Wars enthusiast in Australia.

He had seen one of my earlier bookmarks—designed like a bookshelf, with the spines of the books featuring iconic Marvel characters, complete with details like Iron Man’s helmet and Spider-Man’s mask peeking out.

He loved the creative twist and asked if I could make a similar bookmark, but this time inspired by the Star Wars universe. The only problem? My knowledge of Star Wars was, to put it mildly, limited! Luckily, I had a friend who was a true Star Wars devotee, and he insisted I watch the films to find inspiration.

So I embarked on a full-blown galactic research mission. I watched all the Star Wars movies in chronological order—and then got hooked on the animated series. What started as “homework” to understand a new universe ended with me becoming a full-fledged Star Wars fan myself!

But the fascination didn’t stop there. I even started collecting Star Wars props and memorabilia. One of the highlights of my collection is a stunning statue of Ahsoka Tano vs. Darth Maul from The Clone Wars series—a true testament to my newfound passion!

Here you’ll find photos of all the materials and tools I use for painting, stippling, as well as digital watercolor and drawing.

My Market Memories: From Autumn Atmosphere to Christmas Joy in Tromsø

This photo album, showcasing all the wonderful markets I’ve been part of! There’s something magical about packing up my products, setting up my stall, and meeting you—my lovely customers. I’ve cherished countless Christmas markets, filled with holiday spirit, and adored the unique charm of autumn markets with their beautiful colors and cozy atmosphere.

Here, I’m sharing moments from these seasons. Take a look at my stall setups and catch a glimpse of the special energy I’ve experienced. Every market has its own story, and I hope you enjoy these memories as much as I’ve loved creating them!

And there’s more! I’ve been part of an amazing project, co-organizing a large Christmas market in Tromsø called Juleglede Marked Tromsø.
